Some feelings run so deep
they are often hard to express
Losing my children, perhaps forever
puts my soul in a state of distress,
I gave them up, not without a fight
I question every day
was this choice what was right?
have I wronged them in some way?
Dearest children, can you ever forgive,
I was not ready, I did not know
the sacrifice a mother makes
when she decides how a child will live
this new family can offer you
comforts, and luxury I could not
but, i hope you always remember
I am the mother who gave birth to you.
